The article “the best performing ceos in the world” caught my eye. Of the 50 ceos mentioned 35 of them didn’t have a mba degree! On average the top 50 ceos increased the wealth of their shareholders by $48.2 billion.

It was found ceos who were promoted from inside the company tended to have stronger performance than those brought in from the outside.

I do have a couple of friends who have got their b school degrees and bring a lot of value on the table. Their thinking is more progressive and better equipped to deal with challenges… The question I would want to ask is how important do you think a mba degree is? Since I don’t have one it would be difficult for me to comment on this but am curious.

Surprisingly on an avg i did 4 posts a month. My fav post would be “Design your own Personalised Tshirt!“. I had to spend a lot of time to get this post done but it was worth it! Also this opened up a new category “Contest” which i am sure readers of this blog found interesting.

I have a couple of ideas which i want to blog about but they are time consuming… lets hope i can get some of them live this year…

The time has finally come for me to say good bye to my home in Santacruz. We have to vacate the place today… I went there to have my last dinner knowing that i wont be walking in those streets ever…

Most of the things have been moved into a garage… Our home is almost empty… In the next couple of days they gonna demolish the building to build a new one… [sadly we wont be moving in back unless i can raise a couple of Crores in the next 1 year]

The Sheth family have been staying in this house for more then 65 years. My grandfather when he moved to bombay took up this place which was close to the railway station and also to Podar school where he was a teacher…

My brother and I were raised here… The place was small but never felt so… Our doors were always open inspite of me telling my mom to be careful and not let it be open all the time… It was a perfect place to grow up… lots of trees around, a big playground and lots of kids… add to it school friends namely Hitesh staying just a building away and my cousin Mihir in the next lane…

Some things i will always remember like all the kids learning to cycle, watching movies at neighbours place, bursting crackers in divali, flying kites, friends coming over, buying our first refrigerator and tv, going out every new year to juhu beach, bullying my brother to go out with me, all of us playing carrom or cards at nite after dinner, going for juice… going to beach in the morning for walk…

Everything was close by… the beach, bandra, airport and the railway station!

When i think practically this move is right and about time… But when i think from my heart i just dont want to let go… but i know it will be difficult to hang on to this place… some point of time i will have to move away…

For those who don’t know which country these domains belong to…

.ly is the Internet country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for Libya. Wiki link

.li is the Internet country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for Liechtenstein. Wiki Link

My hunt for a registrar started. I usually register domains with Indialinks or GoDaddy but none of these registered a .li domain. I asked aalaap and also did a google search and found a couple of sites like

• Netim
• Webnic
• 101domain
• EuropeRegistry
• Marcaria
• Domainr
• AfricanRegistry

Switch - Official Registrar for .li and .ch Domains

The prices on all these sites varied from 16 USD at Netim to 100USD at 101domains. Luckily on the wiki page for .li Switch was mentioned as the official registrar… I was surprised that the price was not as high i had expected.

They had two options Switch Basic for 17CHF [15USD] and Switch Guard for 34CHF [30USD]. In 10 minutes i was able to register the domain and pay for it.

One thing which i would have liked was registering for multiple years. At the moment i noticed that max you could register was for 2 years on some sites.

Anyways it took me a couple of days but i think i got a good domain at a fantastic price!

Nariman house at Colaba is finally secured. 5 hostages and 2 terrorists were killed during the operation officially named “Black Tornado“.

Earlier in the day all hostages from Oberoi-Trident hotel were rescued and terrorists killed. One thing which scares me is that the terrorists were well dressed and spoke good english… they could have easily escaped along with other hostages…

From what i have heard the number of people shot dead in Oberoi hotel is far more from what appears and is seen in the TV channels.

“Operation Cyclone” is currently underway at Taj hotel

• NSG Terrorist changing position inside Taj hotel [00:23 am]
• 3-4  Terrorist could be holed up at Taj hotel
• Two terrorist cornered by NSG commandos [00:34]
• Operation Cyclone is still on. 3 terrorist killed in Taj heritage wing [9:10am]
• Terrorist had 15kg of RDX on them. Plan was to blow up Taj hotel
• Death toll at 195! [1:00 pm]
• The saga ends!

Its over! The police have taken charge of the hotels and are combing it for bombs. Tons of innocent lives have been lost. I am not sure how long it will take to identify each body before it is handed over to their respective family.

I am emotionally drained and i was not even caught in the terror attack directly. Like lot of people around the world i have been following this. Every morning when we would get up we would put the TV on to see if the operations have been over and successful. I know a few people who have lost their loved ones at the Taj hotel and Oberoi hotel. I dont think i will ever be able to understand or feel what they must have gone through sitting in the safe confines of my house. I pray they get the courage to get over this and able to live their lives to the fullest.

I hope the police are able to understand from the terrorist what made them do this! Everytime i see the pic of one of the terrorist which is flashed on all channels i keep wondering how can he be so cruel going on killing people including kids. What was told to him and made to understand when he set out towards bombay.

The government/intel agencies in India DO SOMETHING! Politicians are all useless. They are selfish shameless bastards. I am like many others sure that nothing is going to be learnt from this attack and after a few years same thing will happen and the politicians repeating the same speech.

Lot of people are talking about bringing a change. I am not sure how? I hope they dont forget in the next couple of days…
